Headed to Rockford

We're heading down to Rockford, IL for the night for Dana and Chris' graduation from Master's Commission.  It's usually a pretty fun time there with Lee's family.  It'll also be Mango's (the new kitty) first time at home alone at night.  I think she'll be okay because the ferrets will keep her company.  I'm just a little nervous because she's still so young.  Rusty will go to the kennel as usual, which is great because he loves it and they love him.

Well, I have to get ready and pack a bag!

Yea...she's about as big as Rusty's head!

Summer is here!

80 degrees today!  Jack (the little boy I nanny for) and I went for a short walk, but mostly stayed inside where the AC was blasting :)  Tomorrow is going to be a long day with him..8-5 instead of 12:45-5.

Mom and I are heading up to see Charles in a couple of weeks.  I haven't seen him since Thanksgiving, so it'll be nice, I'm sure.

Mango, the new kitty, is growing so fast!  Luckily, she is the sweetest kitten and loves being held.  I hope that doesn't change.

I was outside last night for about 10 minutes & got about 20 new mosquito bites!  Yuck!

Babies!

So, I can't believe how many of my friends are pregnant and having babies!  Granted, its awesome, but also kinda crazy!  Its just amazing to me that myself and my friends are at childrearing age.  Lee and I aren't pregnant yet...the "plan" is to wait until I've finished school and had a chance to work in my field for a little bit.  So that would be a couple years yet.  For now, we have our dog (Rusty), our kitten (Mango), and two ferrets (Stewart and Sid).  They keep us busy!  Congradulations to all my pregnant friends!

So, I have to admit...I didn't think there was life still happening on Xanga.  Boy was I wrong!  Lol.  I haven't been on my page in probably a year...had forgotten my login and everything.  But, I'm glad to be back to visit :)

Summer is here and I am fully enjoying it.  Winter seemed to drag on forever here in Wisconsin.  By the time it was actually the right time to put flowers in the ground, night frosts had killed off some of mine.  I guess I jumped the gun & should of waited longer.  Some survived, though :)  I have to admit, I dont know much at all about planting flowers.  All I know is from what I've seen my mother do...my motto thus far is "put stuff in the ground and hope it grows".

Lee has been working on completing our back deck.  Its just about finished except for the railings and stairs.  The hard parts are finished.  Also, he installed french doors in the kitchen leading outside to the deck.  They'll look great when they're completely finished up (drywall, paint, ect.)
The entire house is really a project in and of itself.  I don't think there is one room we're going to leave original.  Its definitely fine for living in, but I look forward to making it more "ours".

For the summer I have a nannying job.  Its a lot of fun so far because the parents are friends of ours and I'm watching their 9 month old son, Jack.  He is seriously the greatest baby.  Sure, he has his fussy moments, but its really only when he wants something--which mostly tends to be food.  We go for lots of walks, as they both keep him occupied and encourage him to nap :)

I am a horrible procrastinator!  Not with everything...but definitely with the things I dont necessarily want to do.  Like, type papers...  I wait till the very last minute to get it done, then I end up stressed and rushed.  I need to break this cycle.  You'd think by now I would have learned my lesson :)

I'm going to visit my brother today.  Haven't seen him since his last court hearing, so it should be good!
